Important FAQS about your application

When do I need to apply?
The deadline for applications is 15 January. So, for courses starting in October 2008 your application has to be in by 15 January 2008

For medicine/dentistry/veterinary studies and Oxford and Cambridge the deadline is earlier – 15 October.

How many courses can I apply for?
You can apply for a maximum of five courses in one academic year. For medicine/dentistry/veterinary studies the maximum number of course is four. You cannot apply to both Oxford and Cambridge.

How much does it cost to apply?
If you apply for only one course the fee is £5. If you apply for more than one (max five) the fee is £15.

Will they understand my qualifications?
Yes. If you are on the Swedish National Programme, just fill in your grades eg VG, MVG. The university has a conversion scale which includes nearly all education systems in the world.

Will I need to take an English exam?
Probably. Unless you have studied for the IB diploma you will need proof of your proficiency in English. You will often be asked for the TOEFL or the IELTS but sometimes CAE and is enough. Info on this can be found on the university website. TOEFL is no more difficult than CAE so don’t let this worry you!
